Board TCF meets Dalai Lama

The board of the TibetanChildrensFund had the honor to meet the Dalai Lama in person. The meeting took place in the city of Leh (capital of Ladakh) 3500m above sea level.

The meeting took place in the Dalai Lama's summer house in Leh, where he was staying at that time to give lectures and spiritual classes to the many Tibetan people in this area.

Ofcourse it was a great honor and we will cherish this precious meeting.

Project Alchi

In September 2009 during a trip through North-West India, TibetanChildrensFund supported a small project called Alchi. This is a very small town in Ladakh close to the Tibetan border.

The school we visited there had no electricity and no water. Eventhough in winter the temperature drops below -25 degrees Celcius.

Their biggest wish was to have their own power generator giving them electricity to power their computers and lighting. Luckily we were able to help them! Together with some teachers, the TCF board bought the power generator.With some extra money to spend, we bought writing material for all the children. Something which is seen as luxury items in Alchi.
